We are pleased to invite University faculty and students of PhD programs to participate in a 3-day workshop “Writing with Academic Integrity: Keys to Success” that will be lead by Robert Arthur Cote, PhD in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching (SLAT), University of Arizona. The workshop is aimed at providing University faculty staff who teach English Language courses or courses in English with a unique opportunity to hone practical skills for ELT and learn about modern methods of teaching English and teaching in English with a special emphasis on developing writing skills, using latest trends of course and assignment design as well as academic integrity tips and rules that help avoid AI misconducts and violations in academic writing. Precise attention will be paid to examples and practical tasks participants complete, peer-to-peer evaluations participants conduct during workshops.

WORK PLAN:
DAY 1: Academic Integrity; Theory and practical tips for good academic writing, applicable for teaching English as a second language; practicing Summary, Analysis, and Reflective Writing as main types of writing;
DAY 2: Avoiding Plagiarism: definitions, how to teach students to give citations, how to choose styles of citations and use them in papers and research; Practicing Integrating APA sources into a student essay; Abstract Writing and Editing; Non-evaluative Feedback and Peer Reviewing; Conference Proposal Writing.
Day 3: Synthesizing and Integrating Sources into an Abstract, Writing Skills Improvement Program Presentation, Overview and Peer Review of Statements: Personal, Purpose, Research, and Teaching Philosophy, Cover Letters and Resumes/CVs , Professional Websites, Writing Academic Papers for Publication.
REQUIREMENTS FOR CANDIDATES:
- To have level of English B2+
- To have experience in preparing academic papers/abstracts
- To be a faculty/PhD student in Ukrainian University

- Providing lectures and workshops to various departments on-campus;
- Liaising with Baboquivari Unified School District to offer on-going skills, task, and curriculum-based writing workshops for middle and high school students and professional development for middle and high school instructors in all disciplines.
Current member of: National Tutoring Association, National Councils of Teachers of English, TESOL International, ANUPI-COPEI, Arab Society of English Language Studies (ASELS), National College Learning Center Association (NCLCA), LINGUIST List, and National Council of Teachers of English.
